Reduction in percentage of the risk of poverty rate, due to social transfers (calculated comparing at-risk-of poverty rates before social transfers with those after transfers; pensions are not considered as social transfers in these calculations). The indicator is based on the EU-SILC (statistics on income, social inclusion and living conditions).
The indicator is defined as the absolute difference between males and females in the aggregate replacement ratio. The aggregate replacement ratio is defined as the ratio of the median individual gross pensions of 65-74 age category relative to median individual gross earnings of 50-59 age category, excluding other social benefits.
The data relate to social benefits in the disability function expressed in million EUR. Social benefits consist of transfers, in cash or in kind, by social protection schemes to households and individuals to relieve them of the burden of a defined set of risks or needs. The disability function covers income maintenance and support in cash or kind (except health care) in connection with the inability of persons with physical or mental disabilities to engage in economic and social activities. The data source is the European system of integrated social protection statistics (ESSPROS).
The data relate to the number of disability pensions beneficiaries by pension type (disability pension, early retirement benefit due to reduced capacity to work) at 31st December. The data source is the European system of integrated social protection statistics (ESSPROS).
